Rebecca Bliss has over a decade of experience teaching Salsa, Afro-Cuban, and Contemporary dance to people of all ages, backgrounds and levels of experience. Her passion is guiding students to an appreciation of dance as part of the art, beauty, and simple joy of every day life. Rebecca is deeply committed to the art of teaching the artistic and cultural details of dance, and to the challenge of making each class a unique, living, creative expression.
Rebecca is currently adjunct professor of dance at Barnard College, and a faculty member of Ballet Hispanico's pre-professional division. She is a teaching artist for the arts and education divisions at Dancewave and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Rebecca received her initial training in modern and ballet at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, followed by over a decade of study in Cuba.
Rebecca is grateful to all of her teachers and collaborators for their many gifts of dance wisdom along the way, and carries a special appreciation to those artists whose magic keeps us happier and healthier well beyond the studio.
